Abstract Teenage pregnancy in Delta North Senatorial District, like most other regions of Nigeria, is on the increase. Hence this research was motivated to investigate the effect of feeding habits on the health of pregnant teenagers as well as identify nutritionally related diseases among them within the senatorial district. It had been reported that some of the pregnant teenagers suffer from both ongoing nutrition deficiencies and the long-term cumulative consequences of under nutrition during childhood. Pregnancy-related health and nutrition problems affect a woman’s life, that of her unborn baby and new born infant well beyond delivery. The research, an ex-post-facto design, used a sixty item questionnaire to generate information on the effects of feeding habits on the health of pregnant teenagers from 180 respondents sampled from 25 sub-urban settlements selected from the 3 Local Government Areas in Delta North Senatorial District. Furthermore, cases of oodema, weak anaemic, poor growing, low weight babies were reported in the study. The paper recommended that parents should bring up children under circumstances that would prevent the occurrence of teenage pregnancy and for those who eventually become pregnant, should be taught about balanced diet and the importance of observing them.

Abstract Teenage pregnancy is defined as a single or married teenage or under-aged girl (usually within ages
13-19) becoming pregnant. it is believed that most pregnant teenagers lack basic nutritional
knowiedge of proper feeding habit towards their developing foetus as it relates to their health.
Some pregnant teenagers however take pleasure in snacking, skipping meals, dieting and eating
away from home. Unconventional diet are common eating behaviours among adolescents which
relate to their changing life styles of increased independence, busy schedules, search for selfidentity, peer influence, group conformity in relation to their image.

Abstract The study was a nutritional assessment of the contemporary life of the people of Agbor in Delta State,
with a view to determining how their attitude to food was predicated on their lifestyles. The study
population consisted of 300 working class individuals in Agbor metropolis from which 100 were
randomly selected. In order to effectively collect information from the respondents, a 26-item
questionnaire was designed to determine the influence of people’s health and cultures on their feeding
patterns. The research instrument was validated and pilot-tested twice on the respondents and a
reliability co-efficient of 0.85 was established. The Chi-square statistic was used to analyse the data
generated at the 0.05 level of significance, and it showed that socio-economic status was significant as
a determinant of feeding pattern. Furthermore, unhealthy lifestyles from bad feeding patterns disposed
some individuals to nutritional related diseases such as obesity (3.56 + 1.153), diabetes (3.41+1.263),
hypertension (3.12+1.395) and ulcer (3.64+1.312). The study recommended dispositions towards
healthy lifestyle for the people, drastic reduction of foods that are calorie dense, skipping breakfast,
drinking sugary beverages respectively, and emphasised adequate intake of nutrient dense foods such
as fruits and vegetables and foods rich in essential fatty acids to maintain the body’s health status.

Abstract The paper was motivated by the need to review how Home Econonics
education was being impacted upon by various elements ofglobalization. I is
notable that the socio-cultural, economic and political landscape of almost every
community is being reshaped by the influences of comununication and improved
technology. Consequently, the paper aimed at reviewing:-
the role of globalization on the economicbase of rural communities
the impact ofglobalization in improvingfamily living
the awareness about pathogenic organisms and their prevention.
As a methodology, it reviewed glob?lization and its impact on homeeconomicsusing
available literature.
It then concluded that globalization had improved the skill acquisition capacity of
the people, introduced labour-saving home appliances as well as improved the
general living standard of thepeople. It was recommendedthathomneeconomistsand
women generally should embrace the positive aspects of modernization for
improvement in quality of meals prepared and served to their families, as well as in
skills acquisition for self-sustainability.

Abstract The study involved the anthropometric assessment of weight, height, arm circumference and
triceps skinfolds of 180 pregnant teenagers that were randomly selectedfrom 3 Local
government Areas of Delta North Senatorial District of Delta State, to evaluate the nutritional
implications of food consumption among them. Weighing was done after a full meal using a
weighing balance, with minimal clothing after emptying the bladder. Height was measured
against a wall using a calibrated measuring rod, arm circumference with a measuring tape and
skin fold calliper was used for measurement of triceps skinfolds to determine the amount of
subcutaneous fat. Result recoded for weight was (< 30kg=2.75%; 31.4kg=9.44%; 41-50kg=
37.78%; 51kg- above=50%); height recorded (1.1-1.4m= 7.22%; 1.5-1.7m= 87.78%; 1.8mabove= 5%). The mean arm circumference of 24.8-25.2 cm was recorded among 37
respondents, while the range of triceps skinfolds from 9.2 to 9.5mm had the highest number of
pregnant teenagers (29: 16.11%). Consequently, it was recommended that pregnant teenager
should be counselled to eat enough balanced diet at the onset of pregnancy to lay down more
fat stores in their early months.

Nigerian girls in the realm of greatnessand efficiency towards upgraded nation-building. The impediments
of the girl-child to schooling is limitless and these include political, strict religious and socio-cultural
variables among others. This paper focuses on training which is the right of the girl-child and a key to
changing her life through value- orientation in Home Economics Education, thereby making her a mindful
individual for the general public. This paper likewise proposes that since the role played by the girl-child in
monetary advancement is incredibly significant, they ought to be equipped with great instruction for open
doors to improve their social, political, and monetary investment towards upgraded nation-building. It is
noted that the learning process at school usually aims at modifying the behaviors of learners so that they
can sustain the value chain. Value-orientation through Home Economics Education is complete with
different vocations in Clothing and Textile, Home Management, Foods and Nutrition from which the girl child can obtain value-added education for self-sufficiency and national development.

Abstract Bio-inspired architecture synthesizes innovative design principles and natural elements, paving the way for a sustainable and interconnected future. It requires interdisciplinary collaboration among architects, scientists, engineers, and economists to advance innovation. Establishing robust research frameworks is crucial for enhancing the precision and effectiveness of bio-inspired designs. Public awareness campaigns, policy incentives, and educational initiatives are essential for societal transformation and promoting sustainable lifestyles. Governments and organizations can promote the integration of bio-inspired concepts into conventional architectural practices through incentives, grants, and certifications. This collaborative effort can promote energy-efficient and biophilic designs, advancing societal well-being and environmental stewardship. Bio-inspired architecture goes beyond conventional construction practices, representing a philosophy that values nature's wisdom and envisions a state of balanced cohabitation. The journey towards energy-efficient, well-being-promoting, and economically accessible homes is continuous, offering a future where architecture promotes healing, sustainability, and inspiration
