Abstract This study was undertaken to assessthe implementation of Business Studies curriculum in junior secondary schools
in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State. The researcher stated three specific objectives, raised three
research questions and formulated three null hypotheses accordingly. The study adopted analytical survey research
design. The population of study was made-up of four hundred and ninety-two (492) SS1 students of three secondary
schools in Ika South Local Government Area, which were selected through purposive sampling. With proportional
stratified sampling, a sample of one hundred (100) students (approximately 20% of the population) was drawn
from the respective schools that formed the population. Questionnaire was used for data collection. Mean and
standard deviation were used to analyze the data obtained from the field while the null hypotheses were tested at
0.05 level of significance using z-test. The study revealed that the implementation of Business Studies curriculum
has not provided learning opportunity that would enable the learners to acquire adequate skills for self-employment
or to be self-reliant. It was further revealed that most instructional resources required for effective implementation
of Business Studies curriculum were either inadequate or not available in the schools; Also, the business studies
teachers could not teach some components of the subject, such as accounting, keyboarding, and shorthand and
such factors had negatively affected the effectiveness of the implementation of Business Studies curriculum. The
researcher, therefore, recommended that for effective implementation of Business Studies curriculum, government,
school management and other stakeholders should help to equip the schools with the required number of needed
instructional resources; organize workshops, seminars, and conferences for Business Studies teachers at regular
intervals in order to improve their instructional competence; and should set-up quality control unit in every school
to ensure that teachers properly utilize the available instructional resources for the teaching and learning of business
studies

Abstract This study is designed to assess the level of female participation in apprenticeship in technical and vocational
occupations in Delta State. The study adopted the descriptive survey research design. A simple random sampling
technique was used to obtain the respondent. The population of the study is 200 entrepreneurs and 150 lecturers.
A well-structured questionnaire titled assessment of the level of female participation in apprenticeship in vocational
and technical and vocational occupations questionnaire (ALFPAVTOQ) was also used to obtain information for
the research. To achieve this, two research questions and two hypotheses were raised to guide the study. Data
obtained were analysed with mean and standard deviation. The findings of the study shows that female
participation enhance apprenticeship in technical occupation, Apprenticeship and technical occupation need not
parent educational status, positive attitude of female is needed in technical occupation and that apprenticeship in
technical and vocational occupations improves female participation in technical occupation. Based on the findings
of the study, it was recommended that training centers should be provided for female with boarding facilities or
those available should be made co-educational, an enlightenment campaign to educate female and emphasize on
the need for female to participate in training and skill development in the industries should be organized.

Abstract The study examined the influence of the availability and adequacy of instructional facilities on teaching and learning business courses at the University of Delta, Agbor. Two (2) research questions and two (2) hypotheses were raised to guide the study. The study adopted the descriptive survey research design. The sample size for the research work was drawn from the entire population through the random sampling technique, consisting of 100 students (20 males and 80 females) in the department of Business education at the University of Delta, Agbor. A well-structured questionnaire was used to obtain information for the research. The findings revealed that six out of the ten identified instructional materials were neither available nor adequate for teaching office skills in business studies at the secondary school level in Delta State. Based on the findings, the study recommended that adequate funds be made available to provide instructional facilities in the Business Education department and that the Internet and other modern communication facilities should be installed in the Business Education department

Abstract : This paper focused on the Utilization of Emerging Digital Resources in Teaching Business Education Students for Employ ability Competency Skills Acquisition in South-South, Nigeria. The paper examined the utilizable emerging digital resources, their adequacies and challenges militating against the Utilization of Emerging Digital Resources in Teaching Business Education Students for Employability Competency Skills Acquisition in South-South, Nigeria. The study adopted a descriptive survey design. The study was conducted in universities in the south-south region of Nigeria. The population of the study constitutes 300 business educators in six federal universities in the six south-south states. A self-structured instrument titled "Emerging digital resources and employability in business education programme questionnaire (EDREBEPQ)" was used for data collection. Cronbach's alpha was used to measure the internal consistency which yielded an overall reliability co-efficient of 0.80. Data were collected by administration of validated questionnaire on the respondents. Mean and Standard deviation were used to answer research questions. The findings showed that word processors, spreadsheet and data analysis tools, and teleconferencing as the most utilizable emerging digital resource in teach business education for employability skill competence skill. It showed that challenges such as maintenance, resistance to change, lack of fund, lack of exposure, power failure, and lack of adequate trained personnel as factors that militate against the utilization of emerging digital resources in teaching business education for employability skill competence skill acquisition in the tertiary institutions. It concluded that the uses of digital resources in business management help in the acquisition of employability competency skill for business expansion and economic growth. Unfortunately, the adoption of digital resources in teaching in Nigerian universities has remained a mirage due to its slow pace of acceptance and use. The study recommended that Preparation of lecturers to face the challenges of an ICT enriched teaching and learning environment is crucial.

Abstract With advancement in information technology in the 21st century, e-learning has become an indispensable technology for teaching, learning and research in education. E-learning involves the use of technology to enhance learning including digital collaboration, satellite broadcasting, CD-ROMS amongst others. E-learning has so many advantages over the traditional method of teaching and learning. Besides, so many e-learning tools are available for teaching and learning. However, despite these numerous advantages, a careful look at Nigerian educational system shows that the use of e-learning is still rather slow or imaginary. One of the reasons for this may be due to ignorance, negative perceptions amongst students and teachers and; non-availability of e-learning facilities in the system. This paper critically examined the potentials and immense benefits of e-learning in education generally and business education in particular. The paper also looked into the Nigeria policy on information and communication technology (ICT) as it relates to education. It further presents various methods that may be employed in delivery business education lessons via e-learning. Recommendations were made that there should be awareness creation about the potentials and prospects of e-learning in Nigerian schools amongst others.

Abstract This study investigated the assessment of lecture method as a method of teaching Business Education courses in tertiary institutions in Delta State. The population of the study consists of Business Education in the tertiary institutions in Delta State. Out of which one hundred and three were randomly sampled. Two research questions with two null hypotheses were raised to guide the study. Structured questionnaire will be used to gather information from the respondents. Data collected will be analyzed using mean and standard deviation while t-test will be used to test the null hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The study reveals that lecture method is inevitable as being the oldest and commonest method of teaching Business Education Courses. The study concluded that lecture method still remain a prominent feature of teaching Business Education Courses despite the development of new approaches to teaching and learning in higher education. The study recommended among others that Business Educators should continually engaged in in-service training to enhance their efficient utilization of lecture method.

Abstract The paper the utilization of internet facilities by business educators in Colleges of Education in Edo and Delta States. The population for study was made up one hundred and twenty six lecturers in Business Education in the six Colleges of Education in Edo and Delta States. Out of which sixty were randomly sampled. The instrument for the study was the questionnaires. Data collected was analyzed using descriptive statistics of mean, standard deviation and t-test. The paper concludes that utilizing the potential for the internet in business education will help to make schools more productive and efficient than they currently are, and transform teaching and learning into active process connected to real life. The paper recommends that business educators should constantly engage in training and retraining programs to update and increase their information technology knowledge and competencies to effectively utilize the resources on student learning.

Abstract This paper aims at critically examining the linkage between Business education and COVID-19. Due to the large global impact COVID-19 has had on society, new entrepreneurial education management practices are required to deal with the change. To do this, this article discusses why COVID-19 can be a transformational opportunity for Business education research due to the new thought processes raised by the pandemic. The paper suggests several assumptions that have changed as a result of COVID-19 and how Business education is required in order to help solve the pandemic. By doing this, the article suggests that more Business education research embedding a COVID-19 context is required to breakthrough new frontiers and reset the research agenda. By taking an entrepreneurial stakeholder perspective that looks at Business education as a holistic process, an enhanced analysis of how response mechanisms including recovery and change are conducted can be made. This enables a way to view the COVID-19 crisis as an opportunity for more attention placed on the importance of Business education for society.

Abstract The study investigated empowering undergraduates through mentoring; strategies in vocational education. Two research questions were posed to guide the study while one hypothesis was formulated and tested at 0.05 level of significance. A total of 26 lecturers and 293 final year students totaling 319 were studied out of 1061 population. The instrument for the study was the use of questionnaire, with a four point likert scale ranging from highly applied to not applied. 6 lecturers and 20 students validated the instrument and a reliability test using test-retest method yielded a correlation of 0.89 and 0.87. Mean rating was used to answer the research questions while z-test was used to test the hypothesis. Findings revealed that mentoring strategies are not applied in vocational education for teaching and learning. The paper concludes that if mentoring strategies are applied, students will have access to tools that can adjust their attention span and provide valuable and immediate feedback for literacy enhancement. The paper recommends that mentors should be encouraged to attend more training to enhance their skills.

Abstract This paper is titled perception of Delta State Colleges of Education final year students about television advertising as a method of promoting the consumption of lndomie among female Business Education students. The population of the study was made up of female business Education students in the four colleges of education, simple random sampling technique was used for the population, out of which 60 were randomly sampled. Two research questions were developed to guide the study. Mean and standard deviation was used :o analyze the results from the study. Finding from the study revealed that teaching female business education students with television advertising on the consumption of indomie will induce them to prefer it to other fast foods. The paper concludes that advertising is a great tool for learning, communication and for information. The paper recommends among others that teaching female business education students with television advertising on the consumption of lndomie should not only be on television but it can be put into print or other electrical retrievals.

Abstract No nation can experience a meaningful transformation, unless the citizenry, most especially the youth, are highly skilled in vocational and technical fields. The technical strength of any nation helps to equip the nation so that it can be able to face the challenges of modern technology globally Part of the mission of the National Board for Technical Education, (NBTE), is to promote the production of skilled/semi-skilled technical and professional manpower to revitalize and sustain national economy among others. And the establishment of adequate linkages between technical and vocational education institutions and industries. There is a great disconnect between educational institutions and the industries, due to the fact that much emphasis has been placed on paper qualification rather than competency. This paper discussed the prospects of vocational technical education and its challenges. Conclusion was drawn and some recommendations were made which includes: emphasis on competency rather than paper qualification. And that, existing technical institutions that are dilapidated should be given a face lift.

Abstract The study sought to find out the effect of utilization of social network resources by teachers in business education programme on acquisition of small business start-up skill and innovative skill development in Universities in South-South, Nigeria. The study used the mixed methods of correlational and survey research. The study's population consisted of 156 business education professors from Nigerian Federal and State institutions in the South-South region with the study's sample size of the whole pool of 156 professors. The instrument used for data collection in this study was questionnaire titled: “Utilization of Digital Resources in Teaching Business Education Programme for Employability Skills Acquisition Questionnaire” (UDRTBEPESAQ). The results of the Cronbach's Alpha reliability test indicated an index of .911. Demographic information was analysed using charts. Hypotheses were assessed using Pearson product moment correlation at the 0.05 level of significance, and the mean and standard deviation were used to resolve the research question. It was concluded from the study that the utilization of social network resources by teachers in Business education programme significantly enhance the acquisition small business start-up skill and innovative skills development in Universities in South-South, Nigeria. One of the recommendations drawn from the study stated that Management of universities in South-South, Nigeria should ensure adequate competency in social network resources in order to enhance employability skill development.

Abstract This study examined business education students’ involvement in social networking and its implication on their academic performance. The study highlighted that business education is an aspect of theories and processes of vocational education that is offered in colleges of education and universities. On the other hand, the advent of social networking has revolutionised the way individuals interact and communicate, extending its influence to various domains, including education. This work explored various interrelated concepts in the course of carrying out this study; such concepts included business education, social networking, academic performance, types of social networking involved by business education students, and the effect of business students’ involvement in social networking on their academic performance. It further stated that students’ involvement in social networking can have both positive and negative effects on their academic performance. The study explained in detail the different types of social networking that business education students are involved in, including, among others, online communities and forums, professional networking sites, educational and collaborative platforms, and academic and learning platforms. The study concluded that the involvement of business education students in social networking presents a complex dynamic with significant implications for their academic performance. One of the recommendations made was that business education programmes should integrate digital literacy and time management training into their curricula. By educating students on the effective use of social networking platforms for academic purposes, they can learn to balance their social and academic lives.

Abstract The study investigated the effects teaching styles on academic performance of Business Studies students in junior secondary schools in Delta State. To guide the study, four research questions and four hypotheses were raised. The study adopted a quasi-experimental design. The population of the study consist of 62,527 public upper basic secondary class (2) students in Delta State. The study sample consist of 376 Business studies students from nine mixed secondary schools in the three senatorial districts in Delta State. The purposive and stratified sampling techniques were used for the study. The instrument used for the study was the Business studies Achievement Test (BSAT) consisting of 50 multiple choice items drawn from the scheme of work from upper basic secondary school (class 2). Kuder Richardson formular 21 was applied to determine the reliability of the instrument and a co-efficient r of 0.77 was obtained. The mean and standard deviation was used in answering the research questions while the hypothesiswere tested using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and t-test statistics at 0.05 level of significance. The findings of the study showed that there was a difference in the mean scores of Business Studies Students taught using the expert, personal model, and delegator teaching styles. Based on these findings, it was recommended that Business studies teachers should use more of the personal and delegator teaching styles. Government through the ministry of Education should organize seminars and workshops to sensitize and train teachers on how to effectively use the personal model and delegator teaching styles in the classroom.

Abstract In the modern era, social media platforms have become integral tools for entrepreneurial
development, particularly among students of business education. This study explores the
effect of social media platforms as an enhancement to the entrepreneurial development of
students in business education. The study delves into the impact of social media as a means
to communicate and share information, giving a brief understanding of the use of social
media platforms in fostering creativity, networking, marketing strategies, and overall
business acumen among students. Through a comprehensive review, this study examines
the importance of entrepreneurial development in business education and the
underpinnings of social media's role in entrepreneurial development. Additionally, the
study explores the types of social media platform which includes social networking
platforms, microblogging platforms and photo-sharing platforms also involving the types of
entrepreneurial skill development which includes, innovation, creative problem-solving and
sales technique. The study also contributes to a deeper understanding of the roles of social
media platforms in enhancing the entrepreneurial development of students in business
education, such as networking and collaboration, marketing and branding, and
crowdfunding and funding opportunities, providing insights into practical applications and
success stories of utilizing social media for entrepreneurial endeavours among business
education students. The study concludes that it is essential for students to approach social
media usage with caution, ensuring that they maintain professionalism, integrity, and
ethical standards in their interactions online. One of the recommendations was the
establishment of mentorship programmes that pair students with experienced
entrepreneurs or industry professionals who can provide guidance, support, and feedback
on their social media strategies and business ventures.

Abstract This paper assessed problem-solving skills required of Business Education students for job
performance in organisations in a Digital Era. Two research questions were raised and two null
hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. The researcher adopted a descriptive survey design.
The population size was 380, the whole population of 380 was used as sample due to its manageable
size. The instrument used for data collection was a structured questionnaire designed to elicit response
based on the research questions set for the study. The instrument was validated by three experts, two
in Business Education and one in Measurement and Evaluation. Reliability of the research instrument
was obtained using Pearson's Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. The overall reliability index
for the instrument was 0.89. The data collected was analysed using Mean with Standard deviation for
the research questions and t-test for the hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The results obtained
indicated that the senior civil servants in organisations were of the opinion that the low level
problem-solving skills and the high level problem-solving skills were highly required of Business
Education Students. Thus, it was concluded that low and high level problem-solving skills were very
highly required of Business Education students for job performance in organisations in a digital era.
It was also recommended that Business education students should equip themselves with these
problem-solving skills to make them relevant in the world of work.

Abstract Vocational skill acquisition has to do with obtaining relevant skills. Such skills involve the use of hands for professional purposes. Vocational skills have to do with creativity, innovation, professionalism, entrepreneurship and development of new or existing skills or ideas. Attainment of such skills has become paramount given to the increased number of unemployment and poverty rates in Nigeria. The study took a quick view of the different vocational and entrepreneurial skills that is possible in Nigeria. It was concluded that for Nigeria to attain that level where people no longer job hunt in search of greener pastures, the development of certain skills should be the goal of both universities and college students, government and the Nigerian citizens' at large. Thus, it was recommended that the Nigerian citizens should engage themselves in the attainment of sustainable skills or improvement of existing skills by the actual practising of such skills for profit making purposes.
